Sorting

Don’t discard your drinks or cupcake holders! Turn it into a sorting activity using buttons, coins, or uncooked pasta! Children have a natural desire to make sense and create order. Rae can be engaged for half hour just doing sorting.

Early childhood Development:
Sorting is a beginning Math skill. It is a building block to numerical concepts which require them to group objects according to similar attributes. Children use these skills to make comparisons and draw conclusions about the things they learn. You can train them to sort in increasing complexity (by colour, shape, size, length, then multiple properties)

Even in daily routine, you can get them to sort cutlery (small spoons, big spoons) laundry ( towels, socks ) or vegetables!( red, green peppers, cherry tomatoes and big tomatoes)
